The Pan American International School (PAIS) is a private international school owned by the Davia Educational Foundation. This non-profit educational foundation is legally registered and authorized by the Paraguayan government. The Foundation's Board of Administrators is made up mainly of professional educators who work at the school PAIS is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, four of whom are appointed by the Foundation, and one who is elected by the parents of the school. All PAIS Board members are parents of the children enrolled in the school. The operation of the school is left to the Administration.
The Curriculum at PAIS is consists of four divisions: Early Childhood (K3 - K4), Lower School (Kinder 5 to Grade 4), Middle School (Grade 5 to Grade 8), and Upper School (Grade 9 to Grade 12).
The school is recognized and approved by the Paraguayan Ministry of Education and Culture and holds full accreditation status with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It is affiliated with the National Association of American Schools in South America (AASSA). The school will soon be a participating member of the International Baccalaureate Program (IB).
PAIS has only recently completed the second phase of its new multi-million dollar facility on 13 acres of land in Luque, near the International Airport. PAIS is recognized widely as having the best campus in the country. It currently consists of 24 classrooms, 2 libraries, 2 computer rooms, 2 art rooms, a music room, an industrial arts/technology room, numerous play areas, a full-size soccer field, a small soccer field, 2 basketball/volleyball courts, a handball court, and a zoological lagoon/garden. It has a canteen that offers hot lunch.
