Lincoln International Academy is a private, Catholic school founded in 1991. Located in Managua it is considered one of the best private schools in Nicaragua. It is one of the only schools in the country that offers a truly bilingual education (Spanish-English). It is provisionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), with full accreditation expected to be granted in 2008. LIA is also a member of the National Catholic Educational Association, the Association of American Schools of Central America, and hosts the Masters in Education Program by Framingham State College.
The campus sits on a 12-acre property and houses 8 pre-school classrooms, 15 primary classrooms, 15 secondary classrooms and 14 administrative offices. It also has a chapel, library, technology centers, science lab, bookstore, assembly hall, cafeteria and athletic fields. LIA's curriculum focuses on college preparation, offering several AP classes. The students are required to complete 28 credit units and 100 hours of Community Service in order to graduate.
