
The International School Nido de Aguilas is an international K-12 school in Lo Barnechea, Santiago, Chile. The school campus is situated on a spacious 160-acre property set in the foothills of the Andes mountains. Each programs (from Pre-kindergarten to High School) are housed in separate facilities with its own designated staff including principals, teachers, counselors, and support staff. The campus has two multi-pupose halls, a modern library and media center, science labs, computer labs, art rooms, music rooms, cafeteria, nursing/first aid center, playgrounds, gymnasium, weight training and fitness facility, three sports fields and an all-weather track.
The school was founded in 1934 as a private, co-educational, non-sectarian day school. Today, Nido accomodates more 1,200 students from more than 30 different nationalities offering a comprehensive curriculum. TIPS curriculum follows that of a traditional US college preparatory school, where the language of instruction is English, with required courses for students seeking the Chilean diploma taught in Spanish. The school is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 9 to 13 members appointed by the parents and one appointed by the U.S. Ambassador.
