
Chapel School (Escola Maria Imaculada), is a value-centered private day school and an accredited American school located in São Paulo, Brazil. It was founded in 1947 and has been an IB World School since June 1980 and authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme. The school is a Catholic American elementary and secondary school administered by layman under the mandate issued by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The school campus houses the pre-school, elementary and high school departments located in a quiet, residential section of São Paulo and is home to students representing more than 20 nationalities, providing Chapel School with an international flair that is recognized and celebrated. Being a Catholic school, Chapel values its strong Christian ideals, teaching students to make informed decisions, own responsibility for personal actions and community needs and respect life and cultural diversity. However, the school's religious backgrounds are as diverse as the community with families of all faiths and creeds enrolled in the institution.
Being an American international school, Chapel prepares its students for achievement on a global scale ensuring the success of every student who graduates from the school. All instructions are given in English with the exception of those required by the Brazilian program but all courses are designed to achieve a Brazilian, American and IB diploma. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Brazilian Ministry of Education and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association, Association of American Schools in South America and the Association of American Schools in Brazil.
