
The Associação Escola Graduada de São Paulo or more commonly known as Graded School, opened on October 17, 1920. The school used to be in a small schoolhouse on Avenida São João but subsequently moved to its current campus in 1961. Graded School has an elementary school, middle school and high school. It offers American-style teaching and an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma and SACS-accredited American diploma. The school has 90 classrooms with 8 computer labs, an auditorium, a host of amenities including a library that contain 50,000 volumes.
Graded School’s mission is to provide an excellent individual education to prepare students to maximize their potentials and be responsible citizens in a pluralistic society. The School provides a high-quality, well-rounded, English-language, American-style education to children of the international and Brazilian communities. Through its policies and programs Graded endorses the value of diversity and the virtues of social and environmental responsibility and cultural awareness.
The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Brazilian Ministry of Education. It is also part of the Association of American Schools in South America.
