The American School of Campinas was founded in 1956 by 3M, one of the first American companies in Campinas to meet the educational needs of the children of expatriate executives. In time, it grew to become one of the largest American school in the region. Presently, the school serves a student population of more than 500 coming from 30 countries and employs 61 teaching staff.EAC is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and by the Ministerio da Educacao e Cultura (MEC). Its broad curriculum encompasses preschool level, elementary, middle, and high school. The school also offers after school program for students who needs or chooses to stay after school, including various sports activities and "PSL" games. EAC's mission centers around preparing young people to be healthy individuals, responsible world citizens, competent adults, critical and creative thinkers, and life-long learners by providing an outstanding education through American and Brazilian programs of study.
