The Kyiv International School (KIS) is an independent, non-profit, coeducational day school, which offers an educational program from PK (2-year-old class) through Secondary IV (17- year-old class) for students of all nationalities. The school comprises 3 terms extending from 25 August to December 16, from January 9 to March 30 and from April 2 to June 19. The School is governed by the Board of Directors of Quality Schools International, the membership of which is formed as set forth in the Bylaws of Quality Schools International. An Advisory Board, composed of 6 to 10 members who reside in Kiev, assists the School in its operation. The School operates with the approval of the Ukrainian government. The School offers a performance-based, mastery-learning educational program with a curriculum similar to that of U.S. public and private schools. Instruction takes advantage of small class sizes and the diverse educational backgrounds of the students. KIS is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma to students in grades 11 and 12. Advanced Placement classes are offered in the secondary program. Instruction is in English. Foreign languages offered at KIS include Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, French, Dutch and German. The School is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The School is also a full member of the Central and Eastern European School Association. Students participate in a wide range of interscholastic and co-curriculum activities. The park like campus includes an early childhood wing, a new secondary school wing, 2 large media centers, an art complex, 2 computer laboratories, middle school and secondary school science laboratories, a gymnasium, an indoor pool, a cafeteria, a snack café, playgrounds, a park, a purpose built track, a new regulation size soccer field, 3 outdoor tennis courts and other outdoor space.
