The American School of Las Palmas consists of one large two-story classroom and administration building with attached cafeteria; six unique white domes which function as classrooms, library, and laboratories; a separate Pre-School with four classrooms and support areas; and several smaller buildings, which lie in the picturesque valley of Marzagan overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, 15 kilometers to the south of Las Palmas. ASLP is recognized as a foreign (American) system school by the Spanish Government. Due to the variety of the students' backgrounds, a combined American-Spanish (European) program is offered that prepares the students for entry into American, Spanish and British universities. The school’s High School Program (Standard Diploma) is accepted as the equivalent of a Spanish "Bachillerato" diploma. ASLP is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). The school is a member of the Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS) and the English Speaking Canary Islands Schools association (ESCIS).
