Pupils are prepared for (I)GCSE and GCE A Levels and a wide range of subjects are offered at both levels. Spanish Bachillerato studies and preparation for Spanish university entrance examinations are optional. With 1,480 pupils of 38 nationalities, the school has a complement of over 100 fully qualified teachers. All academic staff have British qualifications, except the Spanish teachers and some who teach modern languages. The average length of stay of the staff is over 9 years. Academic facilities King's College is a modern purpose-built school set in a 12-acre site surrounded by countryside but well connected to Madrid. It offers excellent academic facilities including 7 science laboratories, 3 multimedia computer centres, 2 libraries, 2 music rooms, art studio, etc. Recent additions include a purpose-built Early Learning Centre and an auditorium with seating capacity for over 350 people. Resident students enjoy access to many of the sports facilities after school and at the weekend. Barbecues and picnics, trips to amusement parks, as well as visits to places of interest such as El Escorial, Segovia and Toledo, all form part of the regular programme of organised weekend activities. The full range of extra curricular activities offered by the school broadens students' general education, helping them to develop worthwhile leisure-time activities. Ballet, handicrafts, piano, judo, violin, piano, riding, swimming and tennis are all offered as optional classes. The school has its own catering service and offers 3 course midday meals. There is an optional bus service with a modern fleet of 18 vehicles covering Madrid and outlying areas. The procedure for admission varies according to the age of the pupil.
