The International Christian School of Budapest (ICSB) provides an education in English for students in grades 1-12, preparing them for entrance into North American colleges and universities.The school is committed to Christian education. For instance, students take a Bible class every year, attend weekly chapel service, and biblical truth and a Christian worldview are integrated into each subject matter. ICSB seeks to educate the whole child by incorporating a wide range of activities for students, including programs and opportunities in the fine arts (drama, music, art), athletics, community outreach activities, and spiritual and social events. The school also provide many services for students, including guidance and personal counseling, a school nurse, ESL instruction for non-native English speakers, and special services for students with learning disabilities and special physical needs. The school has an international student body. Although the majority of the students are children of North American missionaries, roughly 15% of our students come from various countries in Asia, and another 15% are from local families in Hungary and Central Europe. The school has designed its own curriculum for grades 1-12 in order to meet the unique needs of their students, and to accomplish the school’s educational objectives. The entire curriculum has been developed to instill a Christian worldview in the students, create in them an appreciation of learning and knowledge, give them the skills they need for life, and prepare them to succeed in college. Overall, the school's curriculum is very similar to many college preparatory schools in the United States, and ICSB has design courses at the high school level that will equip students for North American colleges and universities. ICSB is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), and the quality of the ICSB curriculum is born out by the success that every students have in their undergraduate and post-graduate studies.
