
The Austrian-Hungarian Europe School in Budapest is a Catholic School run by the Order of the Brothers of Christian Schools and a La Salle school for children (aged 6 to 14) of all nationalities and denominations. The school's focus is on meeting the children's needs. With special emphasis on teaching the three languages of German, Hungarian and English, Austrian teachers teach the students in German alongside Hungarian educators, according to the Austrian national curriculum. For teaching Hungarian, the school draw on the Hungarian national curriculum, so that the students have no difficulty in continuing their schooling in either a German- or a Hungarian-speaking environment. Instructions are given in German but English and Spanish are also taught as second languages. The school uses different teaching methods to assist the children in learning different subject matters including project tasks and project weeks communicative teaching, reading the works of Austrian writers and poets, occasional literature events in school, media projects (newspaper, radio, TV), ski trips and continuous interaction with German native speakers.
