The International School of Larissa is located in Tyrnavos in the prefecture of Larissa, the capital city of Thessaly peripher of Greece. The school is a comprehensive community school, which caters to students from Reception to Year 12 providing a safe, supportive and well-ordered school environment where children learn the values of mutual respect, confidence, responsibility and a strong desire to learn and achieve. The school employs a total of 15 qualified and professional staff members who are expert in their chosen fields.
ISL offers a broad curriculum based on American and British academic standards. It implements certain aspects of the IB Primary Years Program for students in the Early Years level and the Intermediate level. This includes Greek language, music, drama, and English as a second language. A low teacher to student ratio caters to the individual needs of each student ensuring maximum learning. It has been accredited for Kindergarten to grade 12 by the Middle School and Colleges Association of the United States and offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes for eligible students in grades 11 and 12. The secondary curriculum is college preparatory. Students can graduate with a standard College Preparatory diploma, an Advance Placement International Diploma or a General Studies Diploma depending on how rigorous a program they choose to follow.
The High school department and the Elementary deparments are housed in seperate buildings. School facilities include an indoor gym that can accomodate 300 seats, a modern Design and Technology Center, a library with a huge collection of books, a science lab, computer laboratory, 2 outdoor playing courts for tennis, basketball and volleyball.
