St Catherine's School is an international school, in Athens, Greece. Originally a tiny school held at the British Ambassador's house, since the 1960s St. Catherine's has expanded to a huge complex of buildings in Lykovrissi. Among the many classrooms are housed specialised music and drama rooms, a hall for volleyball and basketball which also features an expandable stage for annual plays and Examinations in Theatre Studies. Other sporting facilities include a pool, 6 football pitches (three big and three five-a-side), another two basketball courts, a volleyball court, and three tennis courts. Currently there are plans to turn the outdoor pool into an indoor one, making it available all year.
St. Catherine's employs over 100 teaching staff and has a student body of 700 pupils representing more than 35 nationalities. The curriculum is divided into different stages, Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception, ages 2 to 5), Key Stages 1 to 4 (ages 5 to 16), and IB Diploma Programme (ages 16-18). Students are admitted to the school based on certain criterias including the nationality, siblings already enrolled in the school, sibling or parent previously in the school, date of application and English language proficiency.
