The Rhein-Main International Montessori School (RIMS) is a full-day school which opened in August 2004. Initially, the school had 36 students in grades 5 and 6 when it opened. In the following school year, enrollment increased to 140 students under a complete elementary and secondary curriculum leading to the German Abitur or International Baccalaureate. RIMS has an elementary (years 1 through 4) and secondary school (years 5 through 9). The school campus is located in Friedrichsdorf with an education that follows the Montessori Curriculum. RIMS offers bilingual instruction (English/German) and is run by a non-profit organization, the "Fördergemeinschaft Rhein-Main International Montessori School e.V." The school adheres to the mandatory state curriculum and operates under a state permit, where tuition is partially tax-deductible under German law.
