Cambridge International School, Berlin is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 3 - 18. The school follows the British National Curriculum and serve both the international and the local community. The school campus is located in a quiet, western suburb of Berlin (Staaken), in the historic Villa Amalienhof. The buildings are surrounded by 40,000 square metres of parkland including woodland and grassland areas. There are extensive outdoor play areas, much loved by the children. Inside the villa are well-equipped classrooms for the Secondary pupils, including a science laboratory and computer room. The Primary pupils are housed in a separate, modern building called Oakwood House. Within the grounds there are two additional buildings, used for Art and the 6th form. The students are prepared for the Cambridge IGCSE exam (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) at the age of 16, as well as the A-level (Cambridge University Examinations Board, Edexcel, AQA and OCR), in preparation for study at university. A-levels are recognized in the German system, but only in specific subject combinations.
