Berlin Brandenburg International School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, to teach all three IB programmes covering the 3 - 19 age range. The school is also fully accredited by the Council of International Schools and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The student body is composed of approximately less than 600 students from Early Childhood to grade 12 representing about 40 different nationalities. A commitment to academic excellence is matched by a belief in educating the whole person. The teaching staff are certified professionals from all over the world. Classes are small, with usually less than 18 students per classroom. The school offers support for students with special needs and to those for whom English is not a first language.
The campus is located in Kleinmachnow, in a wooded setting just north of the Machnower See. It is only a few minutes drive from the residential areas of southwest Berlin and the Brandenburg suburbs, and within short driving distance to Potsdam. With the move to this site in 2001, the school has found the ideal place for growth and is currently developing a complete campus including full sports facilities.
