The school mainly caters for the children of expatriates, and has students from over 65 different nationalities. The school therefore has a strong English Language and Special Needs departments. The International Community School is part of the SKOLA Group of Schools. The school year begins with a pre-school outdoor education experience at Bawdsey, to which all students are invited.
The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma for university-bound students while an international early learning center teaches children from the age of 3 to 5 with strong language emphasis. Primary school students aged 5 to 11 follow the pattern set by the English and international curricula. These are set in small classes with a maximum of 18 students in London's Regent's Park.
The secondary school based in Paddington, central London, is close to the primary school. The school uses the English and International curricula with 15 to 16 year olds studying towards an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Classes are kept to a maximum of 16 students per teacher to maintain the school's strong pastoral care/welfare reputation.
A door-to-door bus service brings most students to school and on both sites our canteens provide healthy meals. The school owns a field studies and outdoor education centre on the Suffolk Coast and students spend at least a week a year engaged in the outdoor education programme centred on environmental literacy. There is a yacht club and students are given the opportunity to learn to sail.
