Regarded by many as one of the best international schools in Europe, St. John's International School (STJ) is located in Waterloo, Belgium and was founded in 1964 by a group of Catholic nuns belonging to Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ). The school's mission is geared at providing an English-speaking education that emphasizes Christian values while respecting other religious traditions, encouraging academic excellence and stimulating social development within a culturally diverse environment. It has a student body from a very international background with students from most major religions attending. St. John's runs from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade, the final year of high chool. It offers the International Baccalaurate Diploma program. However, AP programs are also offered by the school in a limited capacity.
