
Antwerp International School (AIS) is a private elementary, middle, and high school. The school was founded in 1967 and has since grown from an enrollment of 65 students to over 600 which includes more than thrity-five nationalities. It is the first institution to be accredited by the European Council of International Schools and is constantly re-evaluated by the organization.
The school's mission is geared towards educating the young people to be responsible, caring, and productive members of a democratic society in a global community. It also seeks to prepare them for continued education, promotes integrity, self-realization, mutual respect and understanding in a multi-cultural environment of students and teachers. The AIS curriculum is inspired by educational principles that give value to the importance of academic discipline, service, art and well-being. The programs provide opportunities for students to work both independently and collaboratively with the goal of helping them to learn to solve problems, meet challenges and develop a respect for others’ perspectives.
