The Dominican International School in Taipei is a private Catholic school founded in December 1957 as the Department of Defense School which was later changed later to Dominican School before being given to its present name. It was established to give Catholic education to the children of the Catholic American Armed Forces in Taipei. The school is under the supervision of the Dominican Sisters who are members of the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic. Aware that students develop towards adulthood, maturity, and competitiveness, Dominican International School, guided by its philosophy and mission, teaches students to become well-equipped with the knowledge, skills, competencies, and values that will prepare them for college and graduate levels in an ever-changing world. The school uses a modified American curriculum and gives instruction in English.
