K. International School Tokyo is a private, co-educational, secular day school serving the international community of Tokyo from pre-K to Grade 9. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum in English in a multi-cultural environment that prepares students for life-long learning. Priority is placed on assisting students to gain self-confidence, communication skills and leadership abilities that will benefit them throughout their lives. In partnership with this is the school's aim of educating the whole person to help students to be outstanding citizens with an understanding of the world around them. The school also strives to maintain a fee structure that allows entrance to students from varied socio-economic backgrounds, so that an international education is not restricted only to those who are more fortunate.
The kindergarten and primary school are authorized to deliver the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation. This framework complements the intercultural ethos of the school. The junior high school is authorized to offer the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
K. International School Tokyo school facilities include music/performing arts space, indoor pool, gymnasium, rooftop and ground level playgrounds, and purpose-built classrooms. Admission is based on parents' commitment toward the educational philosophy of the school, balance of native to non-native speaker, and the need to attend an international school offering instruction in English. An application package must be completed and attendance at an interview arranged by the school is required to enrol at K. International School Tokyo
