Marist Brothers International School MBIS is located in Kobe Japan and accepts students from Pre-K until the 12th Grade. It is associated with the Marist Brothers tradition under the founding philosophy of St. Marcelllin Champagnat. MBIS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Marist Brothers International School, MBIS uses an American curriculum aligned with the standards of California, New York, and Massachusetts. There is a Montessori program for childen aged 3-6. All courses, with the exception of world languages, are taught in English. The staff at Marist Brothers International School reflects an international character. MBIS currently have staff from America, Canada, Britain, Australia, France, and Japan. All are certified teachers in their subject areas and many have advanced degrees.
Marist Brothers International School follow an American school year of 180 student days. The year generally begins in late August and finishes in early June. The School day begins in morning assembly at 8:30am and finishes following homeroom at 3:10pm. There are numerous extracurricular activities until 6:00pm
Facilities include a library, 2 computer rooms, modern science labs, music room, gymnasium, sports field, playgrounds,and over 25 classrooms.
