International Schools

Manado International School (MIS), a private Christian institution providing education for grades K1 through 12. The Elementary School and the Middle School are accredited by Badan Akreditasi Sekolah Nasional (BASNAS) with A classification and categorized by the Ministry of Education of Indonesia as a National School with International Standard. Although it serves mainly the Indonesian community, other countries are represented in the student body. MIS intends to be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) based in California, USA. English is the medium of instruction in all subjects except Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin. The school emphasizes personalized teaching. The teacher-student ratio is a maximum of 20 students per class. School buses serves the students but cover a limited routes in the region. The school also has outstanding sports facilities and serves free cafeteria lunches and snacks.
