The Australian International School (AIS) is an International school based in Jakarta, Indonesia, but also has a branch on the Indonesian Island of Bali. The School bases itself on the Australian system and uses the Victorian state system in the Primary school and uses the Queensland state system in the high school. The school was established in 1996 in response for a more exclusive education system in Indonseia. Today AIS is the only International school in Indonesia which is capable of catering children with learning disabilities. When it first opened in 1996, AIS only had 13 students. For the first 18 months of its existence AIS grew by approximately 6 students a week. Today AIS is a school with approximately 650 students with three campuses.
AIS has 3 campuses, two of these are located in Jakarta, while the third is in Bali. In Jakarta one campus is devoted to the Primary school years K-6 while the other is devoted to the high school years 7-12. The school in Bali is one campus for both the Primary an High school combined.
