
Singapore International School (SIS) is an elementary school situated on Nam Long Shan (Brick Hill), Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, China. It is an international school run by the Government of Singapore and follows the Singaporean currriculum. The school was first established in September 1991 in Kennedy Town with an enrolment of 200 students. The school now has about 900 students from some 15 nationalities, with the majority being Singaporeans and Hongkong citizens. In 1995, the school moved to its current premises on Nam Long Shan near Aberdeen, occupying an area of 4,150 square metres. The land was granted by the Hong Kong Government while the cost of the building was shouldered by the Singapore Government.
SIS provides a bilingual education in Singlish and Chinese (Mandarin). It follows the Singapore primary curriculum with English as the core subject. Other subjects include Moral education and dance. At the end of Primary 6, students will take the Singapore Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). SIS also conducts a two-year preparatory programme for children aged 4 years - 6 years and has announed that they will offer secondary education from academic year 2007/08.
