Quarry Bay School is an ESF primary school in Hong Kong. The school was opened in 1924 to educate the children of expatriate dockyard workers. It remained in Quarry Bay until the 1970s, briefly interrupted by World War II when it was forced to operate in the Stanley Internment Camp. In the 1970s it relocated to temporary premises in Victoria Barracks, and then in 1984 to its current location on Braemar Hill. The student body is made up of more than 700 students, majority of whom are Chinese nationals. The school's name is derived from Quarry Bay where the school used to stand. Quarry Bay School’s aim is to encourage its students to enjoy learning by providing activities which help to develop confident, happy and successful individuals. Providing equality of opportunity for all the students is a vital aspect of the school's education policy, and this permeates all aspects of life in the school.
