
The Japanese International School has two streams, a Japanese Section and an English International Section, open to all students regardless of their race, religion or national origin. It is a co-educational, non-denominational, non-profit organization. The curriculum is developed from programs in Britain, Canada, the U.S. and Australia. Based on International English Standards, all students study to gain a solid foundation in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. These Basic Subjects are complemented with Music, Art, Drama, Physical Education and Second Language Study of either Mandarin Chinese or Japanese. An extensive Extra-Curricular and Enrichment Program is open to all the students including a variety of activities such as sports, music, dance, computers, swimming classes and much more.
The school's purpose-built facilities is supported with a land grant from the Hong Kong Government, the construction of J.I.S. was completed in the spring of 1997. The school's regular classrooms are spacious and equipped with the latest materials to support a student centered approach to leaning. The specially designed facilities include indoor heated swimming pools, outdoor playgrounds and playing field, gymnasium, computer rooms, music rooms, science laboratories, home economics room and multi-purpose room
