Shanghai American School is a private international school established in 1912 to educate the children of expatriate American nationals in Shanghai. Today, the school enrolls more than 2,300 pupils representing 40 nationalities. Both the IB Diploma Programme and Advance Placement Program are offered. The school employs an extensive and exceptional faculty and teaching staff, with the majority of the 265 teachers holding a Master's degree or above. Maintaining a 9:1 student to teacher ratio means a high level of communication and connection between the two. SAS has two campuses: one is located in a 29-acre property in Puxi (Kindergarten to grade 12) while the other campus is located in a 23-acre school in Pudong (Kindergarten to grade 11.)
