The Canadian International School of Beijing (CIS) was founded in 2005 and formally opened its doors to students and parents from different countries in September 2006. It was with the strong support of the Chinese Government, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Canadian Government that the official establishment of CIS was made into a State Level Project.
With an international student body representing 30 different nationalities, CIS operates under the strict guidance and oversight of the Ministry of Education in Canada. The founding organization of CIS has a long and successful history of operating schools in China. The school offers a world-class facility with an internationally recognized Canadian education curriculum. The grade levels ranges from Montessori to Grade 12 with a maximum capacity of 1700 students. The school's main focus is to serve and provide children from the diplomatic and expatriate communities from toddler to high school with the highest education standard possible, in an environment suited to healthy and well-rounded growth.
