
The American International School of Guangzhou is an international school founded in 1981 providing a modified U.S.-style curriculum. The school was initially conceptualized to educate the children of the staff of the US Consulate, then based in the Dong Fang Hotel. In the course of time, children of non-US families were later admitted. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WACS) to teach Kindergarten to Grade 8. It is registered with the Chinese governmetn as a School for Foreign Students and is a member of the Council of International School (CIS) and the East Asian Regional Council of Schools (EARCS). AISG is also an IB World School authorized to provide International Baccalaureate programs at primary and high school level and also offers AP courses.
AISG campus has two school buildings equipped with modern teaching facilities including two computer labs, four science labs, two music rooms, two art rooms, a library, a multi-purpose room, and a gym.
