
New Cairo British International School is a not-for-profit, co-educational, non-denominational school serving the international English and Dutch-speaking communities of Cairo. The school campus boasts of spacious and high quality accommodation in an environment conducive to learning.
The Foundation Years and Primary programmes at NCBIS follow a modified English national curriculum, teaching modern foreign language French from age four and offering Arabic as an option. Primary school pupils work towards the UK end of Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs while the Dutch stream prepares its pupils for the CITO-TOEST in Groep 8. In the Secondary school students are offered Spanish, French and Arabic (Standard and Modern) as language options and work towards the UK end of Key Stage 3 SATs in Year 9 before choosing up to eight GCSE options to study Years 10 and 11. Sixth Form students enjoy a unique and demanding position in the school and they may follow up to five AS and three A2 modules in Years 12 and 13 respectively.
NCBIS has four well-equipped ICT suites, including one dedicated to primary teaching. Recreational facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, large soccer pitch and athletics track. Maximum class size is currently 18 students. Ninety-five percent of the teaching staff are recruited from the UK.
